As Human Appeal celebrates its 25th year anniversary, it reflects back to the beautiful & supportive community that is Australia which provides a home to many people from a diverse range of ethnicities. Hence, the reason to sponsor such events so that we ensure that we are always giving back to & supporting our generous community.
We were delighted to be present at the Annual Eid Festival in Auburn to support Auburn Sports Club who were the organisers. Even though the rain on Friday afternoon seemed ominous, the festival turned out to be a fun filled festival as children enjoyed the many rides & families ate from many different cuisines.
The Bankstown Eid show was vibrant as always with over 100,000 people attending. The rainy weather did not stop the people of Sydney having fun. The many rides and stalls created an atmosphere that families can come & enjoy. Our Talent Showcase provided an opportunity for children to get on stage and show off their best talents. Our Sounds of Light Talent Quest winner Jamal Al Sankari also provided a unique performance on the stage to the delight of many in the audience. We were also lucky to have Mr Omran Omer from Diwani Studies in Melbourne do some absolutely stunning Arabic calligraphy for all those whom donated as a token of appreciation.
The Multicultural Eid Festival & Fair in Fairfield delivered on its splendour as usual. With people from different ethnicities coming together for a day to celebrate a blessed occasion which is Eid. There were numerous prominent figures from the Australian political community in attendance such as NSW Opposition Leader Luke Foley MP, NSW Shadow Minister of Education & Member for Lakemba Jihad Dib MP, Federal Member for Fowler Chris Hayes MP as well as Member for Mulgoa Tanya Davies MP representing the NSW Minister of Multiculturalism John Ajaka. A couple of speeches were delivered by these community leaders followed by a short talk from Human Appeal Australia Director Bashar Al-Jamal as he stressed on the importance of multiculturalism in this nation & giving back to the community which is the fundamental core value as to why Human Appeal sponsors these events. He also present a gift basket for each speaker containing some of the products that are developed by Human Appeal in Palestine as well as plaques as a token of appreciation.
We are also fortunate to be sponsors for the Liverpool Eid Festival that ran from the 15th-17th of July. It was spectacular weekend as many come out to enjoy their time in beautiful sunny weather. Our Human Appeal mascot Orphan Hamoudi also made an appearance bring smiles & joy to many children as he raised awareness on helping poor and needy orphans around the world.
We would like to thank our amazing volunteers for sacrificing their time to be with us & help operate our stalls everywhere 🙂
Eid Mubarak
