Partnership for Goodness
Swim Sisters will be teaming up with Human Appeal Australia Community Care in 2021. The goal is to deliver swim programs for vulnerable communities which addresses the barriers to swimming. This will ensure the physical and mental health benefits of swimming are available to all members of our community, irrespective of cost barriers.
Swimmers will Fundraise
Swimmers will raise funds for an important community cause in order to subsidise the cost of swimming lessons for the youth and vulnerable women in the community including:
survivors of domestic violence
Particularly involving women from culturally and linguistically diverse communities and Aboriginal communities
children with special needs
parents of children with special needs to provide respite and essential leisure and water safety
students from low socioeconomic backgrounds
students from low socioeconomic backgrounds unable to enrol in swimming lessons due to financial barriers
Life Changing Programs
Funds will be used to develop appropriate programs and will involve close collaboration with selected schools and key service providers including Muslim Women’s Association, Aboriginal women’s organisation and disability service providers.
Swim Sisters is fundraising to fund women’s only swimming lessons for students in Western Sydney. The program will work with a selected number of schools in South Western Sydney, for students to address the barriers which prevents them to participate.
