HAA believes that establishing stable health care, education and income generation programmes, paves the way for empowered, self-serving communities. Through the provision of immediate relief and establishment of sustainable development programmes, we aim to invest in real effective solutions.

Being involved in the community is something I knew I wanted to do after school. I was exiting a schooling community which was all I had ever known. Human appeal really allowed to engage first hand with the community, people in need, people in times of sadness and joy. And I truly feel that I am able to give back, even if all I have to give is my time.

Volunteering at Human Appeal has been a mostly rewarding and honourable experience. I, along with many other HAA volunteers, have participated in organisational initiatives, events and campaigns. I felt increasingly grateful when I was able to experience packing food and hygiene kits and immediately distributing them to our vulnerable community members. Seeing peoples’ smiles made me feel truly blessed to be part of this inspiring organisation.

Volunteering with Human Appeal has been, to say the least, an incredible experience. Their variety of initiatives, such as the HOPE program and the Year 12 High Achievers’ Ceremony, target different demographics allowing volunteers to really get in touch with a wide range of people in the local community. Each of these events requires a unique skillset which also allows me, along with other volunteers, to develop ourselves and become well-rounded individuals. Most importantly though, joining Human Appeal has unlocked a large community where I am surrounded by wholesome company motivated in bettering the world around us, one step at a time.
