On Friday 10th Januaray 2025, The Hon. Sophie Cotsis, NSW Member for Canterbury, Minister for Industrial Relations, and Minister for Work Health and Safety, visited the Human Appeal office to engage in productive discussions about the organization’s impactful work both locally and internationally.
The visit provided an opportunity for Ms. Cotsis to meet with Human Appeal’s Director, Mr. Bashar Al-Jamal, and gain a deeper understanding of the organization’s humanitarian efforts. Present for the meeting were HA’s Finance Manager, Mr Mohamed Razeen & the Head of Community Care, Mr Amin El-Bureeny. The discussions focused on Human Appeal’s extensive work abroad, highlighting their commitment to providing essential aid and relief to vulnerable communities worldwide. However, the meeting placed particular emphasis on Human Appeal’s local projects, which aim to assist and uplift communities across New South Wales.
During the meeting, Ms. Cotsis and Mr. Al-Jamal explored a range of new initiatives designed to address pressing local needs. These projects include programs that support disadvantaged families, promote community cohesion, and provide essential services to those experiencing hardship. The conversation underscored Human Appeal’s dedication to making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals both at home and abroad.

He also showed appreciation for the NSW’s generous support of HA’s upcoming High Achievers Program via a community grant.
